Margaret Kwiatkowski

Polonia

My name is Margaret Kwiatkowski, and I was born and raised in Poland. However, I have spent the majority of my adult life residing in the United States. I have pursued a career in clinical social work, specializing in inpatient hospice care for the past 15 years. Throughout my life, I have sought various creative outlets as hobbies and means of decompression. While I have enjoyed exploring these different avenues, I have yet to discover a truly resonating passion.

Upon my recent retirement, I embarked on a quest to find a creative activity that I could engage in regularly. It was during this search that I stumbled upon collage art through posts on Facebook, immediately captivating my interest. I felt a strong inclination that this could be “the thing” for me. The process of creating my initial collages proved to be an immensely enjoyable and calming experience, igniting a deep desire within me to learn and create more. Collage art swiftly became my newfound passion.

My preferred materials primarily consist of images sourced from magazines and books. Although I currently rely on existing visuals, my ultimate aspiration is to predominantly incorporate my own photographs. While constructing my collages, I prioritize the narrative I aim to convey and carefully consider the colors I wish to employ. I typically commence by selecting larger pieces and subsequently focus on refining the finer details. Although I often envision the final appearance of my collage, the end result frequently deviates significantly from my initial concept.
